After 1 month of using the Eight Wolves Woodlands Beard Oil here in the Philippines, I have found a quality product that can tame my beard. I monitored the improvements brought about by the product and the differences it made if I used it or not. Or if used compared to other beard products.

Eight Wolves' beard balm comes in a 40 gram gold tin can. As like other Eight Wolves product, all their oils and balms are handmade and organic. The product's ingredients are all listed in the label so you have an idea of what you're putting on your beard, listed ingredients on the label are:

• Shea Butter - This makes the beard hair look thicker and gives it more body.
• Cocoa Butter
• Vitamin E -
• Beeswax - Provides the hold on the beard
• Jojoba Oil
• Essential Oils - Combination of oil that produces a strong, manly scent.

Performance Test

The Woodlands Moustache and Beard Balm from the Philippines provided a nice body and scent to my beard. You can still smell it long after you put it on your face. It gave my beard and extra shine and made it more manageable. I usually put the beard balm after a shower or before going out. 

I don't have to use a lot of the product, I usually take only half the size of a 25 centavo coin, spread it on my palm until warm and you can feel the beard balm has spread evenly. You then apply the warm product on your beard, cheeks and moustache area. Just share or form the beard as desired. Voila! 

After applying, you can see the improvement on your beard, you can see the extra shine, it's more manageable and the hair strands look more thicker and stronger. It's the oils in the balm doing it's job! Note that you need to wipe your hands on a wet towel or wash it after application, it leaves quite a greasy feel on the palm after application.

Eight Wolves Beard & Preshave Oil

To be honest this review for the Eight Wolves Beard oil was two months in the making. I did not want to post a review on a product I haven't tested well. I had to grow my beard just to see how effective the product was on my beard and skin.

Eight Wolves' beard and preshave oil comes in a 15ML bottle with a dropper. It comes in two variants the Wilderness and Bloomfield, the product is personally tested was the Bloomfield. Same with the Eight Wolves Pomade, the beard and preshave oil is organic and handmade by only one person so you can expect top notch quality and consistency in all their products. The ingredients listed on the bottle includes Vitamin E, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and essential oils for scent. The bloomfield scent gives an invigorating ang refreshing feel, it's very subtle and not overwhelming to the nose. It actually smells great when you give someone a "beso-beso" and they'll realize how refreshing but manly the scent is. 

Performance Test

My last shave was on my wedding day which was March 15th, I apply the beard oil once a day for every day since my last shave. You can refer to the photo on the right on how thick and healthy looking my beard and facial skin has become in the growing process. The beard oil from the Philippines kept my facial hair and skin moisturized and healthy looking. 

Note that I just apply 2 to 3 drops of the product on my palm, work it around until warm and spread on the beard/facial hair area, including the sideburns, mustache and actual beard area. And recently, when there's enough hair, I started using a brush to keep it neat and flat. 

The Eight Wolves beard oil kept my face and beard manageable, smooth and healthy. The product isn't greasy and has a nice texture to it, when applied to the face you can feel the skin and hair absorbing it the oils and doesn't leave any greasy smell or feel.

Conclusion

The beard oil from Eight Wolves is a great way to keep your beard and facial hair healthy. You only need to use 2 or 3 drops a day to keep your face and beard smooth and moisturized. The scent is very refreshing and holds for about 2 to 3 hours since application. I've gotten a lot of compliment to how "astig" and healthy looking my beard is. It also stopped the dandruff and dry skin that I've been suffering whenever I grow a beard.

Eight Wolves Pomade is one of the three more popular locally produced pomade here in Manila and the Philippines. The maker, Shandman Fontanilla, hails from Bulacan where he brews each batch personally.

Description

Eight Wolves pomade is one of the three locally made pomade here in the Philippines. It is all organic, handmade and handpoured so you can expect only the finest quality pomade. I was given the chance to test this baby out and I can say that I am very satisfied with this pomade. Packaging feels old school which is awesome: Eight Wolves logo, scent description and type of hold are on the top of the can. On the bottom, you can find the description, weight and ingredients of the product which are: petrolatum, beeswax, microwax, castor oil, essential oils and scent. 

Performance Test

I was able to use the Gentleman's Code scent in Heavy Hold. And I can definitely say IT REALLY HOLDS. I put the pomade around noon, went out and commuted to ran some errands then headed of Robinson's Place Ermita to get a haircut from the Slick Barber Co in Tribal Cuts. After the cut, just a little spray of water and it's ready to be reshaped and restyled. As soon as it dried it's back to it heavy hold mode again! I got home around 11PM where the pomade and style was still intact, even when I comb if every now and then you can still feel the hold of this pomade. It won't let your hair down! I showered soon as I got home to try and degreased my hair, shampoo'ed with tap water but I can still feel the grease holding on. I had to use warm water and shampoo again to be finally able to remove the Eight Wolves pomade from my hair.
