- My old Nexus S charging on the SwingBall
I found this neat SwingBall dock at a bazaar in SM Megamall's Megatrade Hall last weekend. As an Android smartphone user, I get frustrated about how only a number of docks are available even if the connector is a universal Micro-USB. Believe me there aren't many Android smartphone dock available in the market.
These SwingBall docks are available in a myriad of colors from GLOTOP Corp. I prefer the sleek looking black-and-grey dock since it matches my Galaxy Nexus phone. I believe I saw a store in Megamall's CyberZone carrying the SwingBall for a whopping price tag of 1,600 php. I was able to buy mine for the bazaar price of 500 pesos.
The SwingBall-S package comes with the actual unit and a micro-USB cord that you can connect to your smartphone's default charger or at your computer's USB port. The unit is made of plastic but it feels very stable and can handle big phones like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, S3 and even the Galaxy Note 2. I tried it on my Nexus 7 but it would not fit. (hehehe)
The Swingball can be rotated so you have the option if you want to dock your phone horizontally or vertically. It comes with 2 small plastic pegs to support a big phone when it's docked horizontally. The only thing missing on this great hardware is the speaker docks. If this can be turned into a speaker AND charging dock. That would be totally rad. In any case-- If you're looking for a great looking Android Smartphone Dock, this would be a great option.
