UPDATE(March 2014): They have moved to a new location in Del Fierro St. Gagalangin. It is in front of St. Dominic Montessori de Manila in between Bato St and R. Fernandez St.
While I was still in the US last year, I got wind from a few blog articles about this Japanese Karinderya in Manila. I did some google-fu and was so surprised that it was a good 15 minutes walk away from our place in Tondo.

The place feels like a real karinderya in random corners of the Metro, from the chairs to the tables and even the plates. If you are a bit queasy on how and where your food is served, you might want to brace yourself before heading there. From experience, I can tell you that everyone in the place takes all necessary steps to serve the food as sanitary as possible. If you are lucky, your order will be served in 5 minutes, take note that they cook everything from scratch, no pre-cooked then heated before serving food! Expect people to be flocking this quaint little Japanese karinderya in Manila. But I do love how organized the orders are processed eventhough alot of people are lining up to try the sumptuous food cooked by Toshi.
Toshi, is a japanese chef who decided to live here in the Philippines with his wife and kids. Expect his meals to be so EPIC-ly awesome that it’s almost worth the wait. The katsudon, priced at 80 pesos, is something I won’t mind eating everyday. Another must try is the gyoza and the okonomiyaki! We were also lucky enough to try Toshi’s sushi platter set.
